Name - The Immigrant's Son
Region - Wellington
Flavour - Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, Ethiopia
How to brew:
This coffee should be enjoyed as the Italians do, brewed as an espresso or as we call it short black. At home I recommend using a Bialetti moka pot as you can make a nice strong espresso with one. Sit back and sip, taking the time to enjoy and experience the flavours.
When the Italian Antonino Meo came to NZ, he brought a simple philosophy, Coffee is a ‘modo di vivere’, a way of life. He believed in the ritual of a fine brew, and always respect for what it is. In 2005 his son Andrew Meo founded The Immigrant's Son Espresso. The experience and passion that had been brought to NZ has been passed along, Today Antonino and Matt Fitzsimons roast beans in the little roadside shop, keeping the ritual and respect alive. The blend this month is called Rituale. In Italian “rituale” means ritual. It's a medium roast, four bean blend. Using these origins brings together some earthy, chocolaty and bold flavours. I chose this blend because its strong, but well balanced. I believe its a fantastic blend to be brewed as a true Italian espresso.
